Google's Gemini Can Now Watch You Through Your Camera
Google's latest AI party trick? Gemini Live now wants to see your world through your phone camera. Announced at MWC 2025, the upgrade lets you share your screen or show your surroundings to get "context-aware" assistance. Imagine shopping online and flashing your outfit choices to Gemini for fashion advice, or a ceramicist pointing their camera at pottery for glaze suggestions.
Gone are the days of typing out lengthy descriptions - now Gemini wants to watch you in action. The feature rolls out to Gemini Advanced subscribers in March, marking yet another step toward AI becoming our all-seeing digital companion. Convenient breakthrough or creepy surveillance buddy? You decide.

Apple and Dassault's Vision Pro Team-Up Brings 3D Design Into a New Dimension
Tired of designing 3D objects on boring 2D screens? Apple and Dassault Systèmes are bringing CAD into the spatial realm with Vision Pro headset integration. Their new partnership lets designers walk around virtual models and interact with them as if they were physically present – no more squinting at flat monitors.
While the Vision Pro's $3,500 price tag screams "enterprise only," Porsche is already test-driving the tech, with broader availability coming summer 2025. Dassault's Gian Paolo Bassi called it the "combination of two big brains" that requires "no special skills" to use.
For the rest of us, there's also HomeByMe Reality, a more consumer-friendly Vision Pro app for virtually redecorating your space before buying that wildly impractical orange sofa.

HTC's 6G Dreams: Portable Networks and AI-Powered Virtual Worlds
HTC VIVE is pivoting far beyond VR headsets, now chasing the spatial computing dream with AI-enhanced tools and... portable 6G networks? At MWC 2025, they showcased their VIVERSE platform where non-techies can build virtual environments without coding, plus AI-powered virtual production tools for filmmakers.
The real eyebrow-raiser? Their concept for a portable 6G network developed with MediaTek and Intel that uses "Edge Cloud" computing to supercharge AI applications and automation. They're even testing private 5G with Nissan for industrial design.
HTC's chairperson insists AI should "help people, not replace them," but seems determined to connect every aspect of our digital lives through their next-gen networks.

Amazon's AI Dubbing Is Ready for Its Prime Video Debut
Amazon is testing AI to help dub your favorite movies and shows on Prime Video. The pilot program will create translated versions in English and Latin American Spanish for 12 select titles, including "El Cid: La Leyenda."
But don't worry – they're not completely replacing human dubbing artists (yet). Amazon calls it "AI-aided dubbing" with "localization professionals collaborating with AI." Translation: the robots take a first pass, then humans clean up the mess.
While this makes financial sense for Amazon's global streaming ambitions, the question remains: will viewers accept computer-generated voices instead of professional voice actors? Or will we all be trained to accept robot performances after they conquer social media first?
